Secure Your Data…! Scammers Getting Your Bank Details
Beware everyone…! You need to secure your data as scammers have found a new method to gain access to your bank details via mobile banking apps and steal victims’ money.
The latest report revealed that there has been a staggering rise in online banking fraud cases since Jan’2024.
How Are They Doing This? Read It Carefully…!
- Scammers Gather Information: First, these scammers find victim’s contact and other details. They can get it on the dark web or from any unethical group.
- Impersonating the Bank: The scammer will call the victim claiming to be his bank’s representative. Before the call, they even register the number on Truecaller with a name that looks believable. Therefore, the victim thinks the call is legitimate.
- Attempt To Access Account: The real game starts from here. The fraudster will try to login to the victim’s bank account using the “forgot password” option. This will immediately send an OTP to the victim’s mobile or email.
- Deceiving the Victim: The scammer on call will inform the victim about a security issue and might claim his account can be compromised. Once he gains trust, he will ask the victim to verify the identity via OTP.
- Convincing the Victim: The fraudster will try his best to make the victim believe that this OTP is generated for a security purpose and neglecting it can be catastrophic.
- Fraud Attempted: As soon as the victim believes the story and shares the OTP, the fraudster will quickly access the account and transfer the money.
How To Save Yourself: Cautiousness is the Only Solution
Always remember that being cautious can save you from these mobile banking scams and keep your digital data protected. Your bank will never (even if your account has been truly compromised) ask for any OTP from your side. Any such call regardless of the circumstances is 100% fraudulent.
In Conclusion: Scammers are Upgrading, You Must Secure Your Data
The recent events of mobile banking fraud demand a necessity to secure your data. Therefore, do not become a fool to lose your hard-earned money. Always check carefully before sharing your confidential information to anyone.
